Thread forming in metal bars
The SingleTap (thread forming station) from EHRT enables thread forming in metal bars.
The thread is not cut into the material, and therefore no chips, chip jams, or bunch-ups are produced. Maximum thread strength is achieved during thread forming because the material fibres are work-hardened.
In addition, the forming speed is significantly higher than the cutting speed, so that process times are reduced by thread forming.
The thread former tool insert is available in sizes M5 – M12 (1/4” -1/2”) and is located in one of the machine’s tool stations. This tool station can also be used for other tools at any time. The SingleTap can be used in the FlexPunch as well as the Professional series.
